Garden design & realisation

This cozy city garden in The Hague’s Visserijbuurt was designed and executed by Studio Wendy Mahieu. The front yard is inspired by the West Village in New York, where the idyllic atmosphere and bohemian feel of this neighborhood is reflected in the use of materials and colors. This concept has been adapted to Dutch design and the architecture of the house.

The same atmosphere and materials have been implemented in the backyard. The pergola is the central feature of the garden and serves as an architectural element. Around it, various spots and seating areas have been created so that residents can enjoy the sun at any time of day and make the most of their garden. Careful consideration has been given to the choice of plants and paving pattern, with the intention of distinguishing and screening the various garden zones.

Idyllic atmosphere meets bohemian feel
