Founder and Creative Director
Wendy established her boutique studio in 2014 in New York, the city that provided her with the creative insights that have become the foundation of her business. Wendy’s vision is to enhance her clients’ living experiences with timeless spaces that have a positive influence on their everyday lives. Her ambitious ideas, perseverance, and can-do approach ensure that every project is executed to the highest standards. As the creative director of her boutique studio she is at the heart of every project. She has a deep understanding of the technical intricacies of building and design, having built up this knowledge over many years of working closely alongside contractors and building companies.
Sr.Interior Designer / Project Manager
Lizzy is the creative right hand of our Creative Director, Wendy. With many years of experience in soft interior design, she translates conceptual plans into refined and atmospheric interiors. Her initiative, broad perspective, and strong sense for materials and design allow her to respond seamlessly to the needs of clients and partners. Within the studio, she also manages orders, deliveries, and project coordination, ensuring smooth execution both in the Netherlands and abroad. A natural driver within the team, she elevates the creative process with fresh energy, positivity, humor, and a sharp eye for detail. In her free time, Lizzy enjoys exploring flea markets for unique design treasures and traveling to exotic destinations for inspiration.
Interior Designer
This talented junior interior designer has a passion for all things technical. For three years, she worked closely alongside our founder and creative director, both in the studio and on site, carefully checking every detail to further enhance our designs. Currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Interior Design in Sweden, she continues to support the studio.
Angela focuses on creating 2D drawings, floor plans, and 3D visuals to help you better envision your project. In her free time, she enjoys boxing and indoor cycling. Her deep-rooted love of architecture and design has often drawn her to Scandinavian cities, where she loves spending time and is now even living temporarily.
Interior Architect
As Interior Architect, Wissam brings a sharp eye for structure and detail. With solid experience in architecture, he effortlessly translates buildings into precise 3D models, ensuring that every design is both technically sound and visually compelling. His expertise allows the studio to bridge the gap between concept and construction with clarity and confidence.
Wissam’s interests extend beyond architecture into the world of art and museums, where he finds inspiration in creativity and cultural heritage. This passion enriches his architectural work, adding depth and perspective to the spaces he designs. His ability to combine technical mastery with artistic sensibility makes him a valuable contributor to the studio’s projects.
Finance and Strategy director
Joris has been closely involved with Studio Wendy Mahieu from the beginning. He and Wendy founded the studio in 2014 from New York. With a degree in Business Administration, Joris worked for many years in the financial world as a trader and director for renowned international trading houses. His exceptional financial and strategic acumen contributed to the growth of Studio Wendy Mahieu into a successful company with an established reputation. On top of his financial and strategic duties, Joris also enjoys kitesurfing at sea.
People & Business Advisor
As advisor to the studio, Marlise supports all team-related matters and acts as a sparring partner for the Creative Director on business challenges and company development. Though involved in a more advisory capacity, her insights strengthen both the people side and the strategic growth of the studio.
For Marlise, a good interior embodies the feeling of home, luxury, and ease. That is why she takes great pleasure in living in a space designed by the studio itself.
